I don’t know if this is tied to abuse or bpd but does anyone else feel like they are super clingy with their friends? Like when your two separate friends meet each other and hangout without you?? this is a both thing. what many people don’t realize is that bpd is a complex trauma disorder. when you grow up not being treated the way a child should be, never being properly loved, validated, or uplifted, when someone comes along and gives that you, you get so attached. you’ve barely had it before, so you’re starving for it and because of the way you were raised, you think of it as something that can be taken away at anytime. love, be it romantic or platonic, is something humans need just as much as food or water. what do people do when they feel food or water will be in short supply? they stock up. that’s exactly what borderlines and those who’ve experienced complex trauma do. they never know when it’ll go so they desperately cling to what they can get and will do anything to preserve it, even at their own expense.
